£24m fund to rejuvenate seaside towns launched by the Government.

Communities Secretary, Eric Pickles and Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander are pioneering the £23.7m Coastal Communities Fund.

Organisations are being invited to apply for the cash to "diversify and transform seaside economies".

Successful applicants can expect to get a grant of between £50,000 and £2m, the government said.

Chamber LinkedIn Group launched

 The Chamber has launched a new LinkedIn group to enable members to share ideas, views and information relevant to the local business community. This will be a member-only benefit that further demonstrates the excellent value and great networking oppotunties offered by membership of the Chamber.

New President appointed

Portishead Chamber of Commerce has appointed a new President. Members voted at the AGM, held on 25th January 2012, to appoint Carole Jackson, as their new president.

Carole who works for Dale Carnegie said "I am delighted to be taking the helm at Portishead Chamber and I am looking forward to building on the success that the Chamber has enjoyed over the last two years under the direction of Tony Walmsley."
